Privacy Policy, information collection and tracking

Here at Doors of Distinction, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all our customers so that they feel comfortable doing business with us. We take the privacy of customers very seriously and we will never share your details with third parties for the purpose of marketing. The Privacy Policy below is designed to help you understand when and why we collect your personal information and the measures we put in place to keep it secure. The main principles that we follow are that we do not collect more information than is necessary, do not retain it for longer that is needed and keep it secure when we do require it.

i. The information we gather
All personal data that we gather is information which you have given us; either you have entered it on our website, for example when completing any enquiry form, or it has been recorded with your permission over the telephone or via email correspondence. We do not buy or source data from third parties - ever.

1) The reason we collect information is for legitimate business interests, allowing us to trade with you and to ensure you receive the best possible service. These business interests include;

B) To ensure your transaction and contact information is kept on file for the purposes of recording product warranties and any other guarantees.
C) So that products can be returned in the event they have a defect or are damaged (subject to our delivery & returns policy).
D) To notify you of changes to our service.
E) To help fulfil our legal obligations to retain audited accounts.
F) To fulfil our legal obligation to support the detection, investigation and prevention of crime.
G) To send you marketing information where you have consented to us doing so.

2) The type of information we collect is limited to: Your name, billing address, delivery address, contact telephone number(s), email address and any business or company trading names which you have given us. We do not retain demographic or payment information.

ii. Website analytics
When someone visits www.doorsofdistinction.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This gives us information such as the number of visitors to various pages on our site. The information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, or allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

iii. Security of your personal data
All information we hold is backed up on our secure customer database on protected servers, using the latest digital security. All information is held strictly in accordance with our own internal security procedures and is retained only as long as necessary.

When placing orders over the website or telephone we do not store sensitive payment information such as credit or debit card details. All transactions are processed via a secure payment terminal in accordance with UK law. We back every purchase with our 100% security guarantee.

iv. Mailing lists
If you consent to being on our mailing list we will use information such as your email address to contact you every now and then. We use this communication for a couple of reasons; to ensure our records are up to date; to give you information on relevant products and offers that may be of interest to you and to check you are happy and satisfied with our service. We do not buy or trade email lists with other organisations or businesses.

v. Monitoring of communications
Subject to applicable laws, the company may monitor and record calls, emails, social media and other communications in relation to your dealings with us. We’ll do this for self-regulatory practices, quality control, staff training and when we need a record of conversations.

vi. Access to your personal information
Under General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) you are entitled to view, amend or in certain circumstances delete the personal information that we hold on our systems. If you signed up to our mailing list you can also remove your consent at any time. vii. Changes to this privacy policy
We continuously review our security and privacy policies to ensure your data is fully safeguarded from loss, unauthorised access or disclosure. This Policy may therefore be updated every now and then but will at all times be kept up to date and prominently displayed on our website.
